From the 18th century all the way up to 2019, pin curls have been the basis of many chic hairstyles. You can pin curl your hair at night and brush it out next day in the morning for gorgeous soft curls. Pin curls are versatile and super easy to create once you master the technique, which you can learn right here!
1. Wash Your Hair
To style pin curls, you must start with evenly damp hair. Cleaning your strands with a good quality cleansing shampoo will help your curls last longer. If you have incredibly thick hair, it is best for you to let it air dry first and then remove excess water with a towel. Make sure you apply TCB Naturals Hair Food before you start pinning.
2. Create Sections And Start Pinning
Take small sections between ½ -1 inch wide, and wrap them between your thumb and forefinger to create a small loop. Continue rolling upwards in a spiral until your reach your head. Secure the loop with a pin curl clip and repeat the same process for all your sections. Make sure there are no loose strands.
3. Wrap Your Head
Wrap your hair with a scarf or a bandana to prevent your locs from becoming frizzy or any of the pins becoming loose. Make sure you tightly secure your scarf before heading to sleep.
4. Remove The Clips
Wait for several hours before removing the curl pins. Be sure your hair is completely dry before you remove the pins. When you are done removing all the pins gently, run your fingers through the curls and style it as desired!
