Top Reasons Why Your Curls Don't Retain Moisture

Are you one of those people who take time out and moisturise your curls religiously but still have brittle and dry hair? Then you have come to the right place! We are sure there is something wrong with your haircare regimen, due to which your ‘fro does not retain the moisture you provide. Check out where you are going wrong!

1. You Do Not Condition

Neglecting a conditioner is a major error that you are conducting. If you rinse your curls with a cleansing or a clarifying shampoo, it is vital to use a moisturising conditioner after that. A shampoo cleanses your tresses but strips off its vital nutrients. It is best to apply TCB Naturals Deep Penetrating Treatment post shampooing for a quick and easy dose of moisture and nourishment.

2. You Are Not Sealing The Moisture In

Your hair will not be able to retain the moisture, if you don’t seal it in. Dry environment, hectic schedules, pollution etc. strips your curls of the moisture. Make sure you get into the habit of applying a natural oil in your scalp and on your tresses. This practise will help lock the moisture in and keep your afro hydrated.

3. Too Much Product Build Up

With too much product build up in your hair, moisture is unable to effectively penetrate the hair shaft. Clarify your hair curls once a month. Follow it up with a gentle deep conditioner to thoroughly remove the product build up. However, do not overdo it because many clarifying shampoos contain sulphates, which cause dryness and breakage.
