Afro hair has a unique curl pattern, which makes trimming your ends at home an intimidating task. We are here to tell you it’s not! If you have never trimmed your ends at home, the thought can be downright scary. Check out this easy technique, which makes trimming hair at home a breeze!
1. Dry Trim Your ‘Fro
Manier times people prefer trimming their hair while it is wet, however this is not an ideal method for your kinks. When afro hair is wet, the curl pattern is loosened, thus cutting your ends while it is wet will make your hair appear much shorter when it dries up and goes back to its original curl pattern. It is best to trim your hair while it is dry to see the result or effect it has on your hair length.
2. Create Sections While Trimming
Sectioning your ‘fro is the best way to trim it. Part your hair down the centre and create four sections of your hair. Detangle each section with a wide-toothed comb before you start trimming. Take your scissors, hold your strands tightly and clip or trim the ends. Repeat the same process for all sections to achieve uniform hair length and perfectly trimmed ends.
3. Moisturise And Nourish
Be sure to use good quality hair cutting scissors, as paper cutting scissors are not made for trimming your hair. Remember to apply TCB Naturals Hair Food at the end for nourished and protein rich hair!
